For the last several weeks we have been developing a strong argument for the Deity of Christ. Who did Christ claim to be? Was He really The Son of God? Was He just a mere man? As we have seen, He was indeed more than just a mere man, He was God incarnate.
This Week:

Scriptures:
Matthew 28:19-20
Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
John 14:9
Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Show us the Father?
John 17:22
“And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one…”
John 10:30
“I and my Father are one”
John 10:32-33
Jesus answered them, Many good works have I shewed you from my Father; for which of those works do ye stone me? The Jews answered him, saying, For a good work we stone thee not; but for blasphemy; and because that thou, being a man, makest thyself God.
Equated:
Throughout Scripture we see how Jesus equated Himself with God the Father. He said things like:
1). I and the Father are One (John 10:30, John 17:22),
2). If you have seen me you have seen the Father (John 14:9),
3). Go and Baptize them in the Name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:19-20).
Because Jesus has clearly stated in scripture that He and the Father are One and that these claims resulted in His crucifixion, one must conclude that either He was lying or He was who He claimed to be.
Be Encouraged: Brothers and Sisters, ask yourself and others, Why would God Almighty allow a mere man to possess the same Names that are ascribed to Him alone? Why would God Almighty allow a mere man to possess the same Attributes that belong to Him alone? Why would God Almighty allow a mere man to receive the Worship that was directed to Him alone? Lastly, why would God Almighty allow a mere man to do the same Works that only God can do? The answer to all those questions is simple, God would never allow a mere man to possess the same names, attributes, do the same works, or receive His worship. Remember what God said about Himself in Exodus 34:14, Deuteronomy 4:24, and Joshua 24:19? He said I am a Jealous God which is to say that He only wants His people to worship and serve Him and Him alone. This jealousy is not rooted in a fallen human motive, but one of Holiness and Love for His people. With that in mind it is clear that God Almighty would never share His divine character with just anyone, unless that man was God Himself. Brothers and Sisters, there are many more verses that proclaim this truth that we did not cover. We primarily focused on the New Testament. We encourage you to study God’s Word and read it daily, that way if you encounter someone who serves a false Christ and proclaims a false gospel you can share the Truth of God’s Word with them.
