Omnipotence of God = God is All Powerful:
We as humans are possessors of a small amount of power which typically comes from outside sources. Sources such as: the food we eat, the water we drink, the sun, and a good night’s sleep to recharge. The fact that we have power and energy to do things on this earth is because our creator God is the giver of that power. He causes the sun to shine, plants to grow, and clouds to rain. Anything that has power or gives power has at its source God Almighty, who is the creator and sustainer of all life. From a blade of grass to the massive stars in our night’s sky, everything that has existence is dependent upon the Power of God. God’s Power is Infinite (It is not measurable; all human power and ability belongs to God), God’s Power is Irresistible (No one can thwart, resist, or undermine God’s purposes), God’s Power does not Diminish (He is not getting weaker or stronger, but remains constant), God’s Power is Self-Consistent (It works in perfect conformity with all of His other attributes). One may ask, “Is there some things God cannot do?” The answer to that is Yes, there are some things that even God cannot do. Scripture declares that it is impossible for God to lie (Hebrews 6:18), Tempt us to do evil (James 1:13), to change (James 1:17), or deny Himself (2 Timothy 2:13). Thus when God is using His omnipotence, He does so in accordance with His Holy nature and perfect will.
Scriptures:
Isaiah 40:28-31 “Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding. 29 He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength. 30 Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: 31 But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.“
Ephesians 3:20-21 “Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, 21 Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.”
Matthew 19:26 “But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.”
2 Timothy 1:7 “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.”
Romans 1:20 “For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse..”
Be Encouraged:
Brothers and Sisters, our power is limited and diminishing; there is only so much we can do before we need to rest again. God is not like us however, He never sleeps or grows weary. He doesn’t find burdens that are too heavy for Him to bear, there is no sin we can commit that is too large for His Grace and there is no trial that we may face that His strength will not help us through. No matter what this life has thrown your way, know that God can do far more than what we can think or imagine (Romans 8:28). He is all powerful and presently at work in your life! There is nothing impossible for Him and what He has willed to do as revealed to us in His Holy Word will come to pass. Let us take comfort in the unlimited power of God this day. Let us thank Him for using His power to draw us to Christ for Salvation. Let us also pray that God will continue to draw others to a saving faith in Him.
