Attributes of God: Omniscience

Omniscience of God = God is All Knowing:
Our human minds are limited in understanding and knowledge and it is hard if not impossible for us to fully understand God; who knows everything that there is to know, perfectly. Scripture teaches that God knows the end from the beginning and nothing catches Him off guard. He knows the number of hairs on all of the heads of every human being that has ever lived (Luke 12:7) and He is aware of the thoughts and intents of the heart of every human living on earth at this very moment. God’s knowledge is perfect in all its ways, His knowledge is immediate (He doesn’t need to watch how things will unfold), His knowledge is eternal (God does not learn anything, what God knows now is what He has always known from eternity past and to eternity future), His knowledge is penetrating (God’s knowledge penetrates the depths of the human heart), and His knowledge is thorough (God’s knowledge encompasses even the most microscopic details). Man’s best estimate is that there are 1024+ stars in the observable universe and scripture declares that our God knows each of them by name. Just imagine what else He knows.
Scriptures:
Psalms 147:5 “Great is our Lord, and of great power: his understanding is infinite.”
1 John 3:20 “For if our heart condemns us, God is greater than our heart, and knoweth all things.”
Psalms 147:4 “He telleth the number of the stars; he calleth them all by their names.”
Isaiah 46:8-10 “Remember this, and shew yourselves men: bring it again to mind, O ye transgressors. 9 Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me, 10 Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure…”
Romans 11:33–36 “O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out! 34 For who hath known the mind of the Lord? or who hath been his counsellor? 35 Or who hath first given to him, and it shall be recompensed unto him again? 36 For of him, and through him, and to him, are all things: to whom be glory for ever. Amen.”
Be Encouraged:
Brothers and Sisters, even though the majority of the conversations that can be heard on the news or in our streets today is screaming uncertainty and uncertain times, we as Christ followers must remember the attribute of Omniscience, God knows ALL THINGS! God is not uncertain during these days. Everything is on schedule and working in accordance with His Perfect Knowledge and Will. It was once said, “There is no panic in Heaven! God has no problems, only plans”-Corrie Ten Boom. Let us as Christ’s followers take comfort in the fact that God has perfect knowledge of every situation and let us be convicted of our indwelling sin as well. Even though God knows everything that is within our sinful hearts and minds, He is infinite in Mercy (Psalm 136) and Grace. He shows great patience not only with His Church, but the unbelieving world around us. Let us be good stewards of our remaining time here on this earth and share the good news of the Gospel with a world who is desperately looking for answers.
