Attributes of God: Immutability

Immutability of God = God Never Changes:
Everything around us is in a state of constant change. Our world is changing. Politics are changing. Laws are changing. Government is changing. Friends, family, art, entertainment, and technology are all changing. Even we as people are changing, but our God is a God who Never Changes. He never changes in His Character (God’s personality is eternal), His Word is Unchangeable (God’s Word can never be altered or annulled), God is unchangeable in His Plans (There is No plan “B” with God. Only Plan “A”), and God is unchangeable in Salvation (God’s redemptive work will continue to advance).
However unstable I may be, however fickle my friends may prove, God changes not. If He varied as we do, if He willed one thing today and another tomorrow, if He were controlled by impulse, who could confide in Him? But, all praise to His glorious name, He is ever the same. His purpose is fixed, His will is stable, His word is sure. —A.W. Pink
Scriptures:
Psalm 102:25-28 “Of old hast thou laid the foundation of the earth: and the heavens are the work of thy hands.26 They shall perish, but thou shalt endure: yea, all of them shall wax old like a garment; as a vesture shalt thou change them, and they shall be changed: 27 But thou art the same, and thy years shall have no end. 28 The children of thy servants shall continue, and their seed shall be established before thee.”
Malachi 3:6 “For I am the Lord, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.”
James 1:17 “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.”
Numbers 23:19 “God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?”
Be Encouraged:
Brothers and Sisters, the Lord is unchanging, not only in His character but His plans. We as Christ followers can rest in His Grace because He has saved us and preserves us and keeps us from destruction. No matter what changes you are facing at this present moment, look to the Firm, Unchanging, Immovable, Rock that is Jesus Christ. We as believers must hold fast to our Good Shepherd, who is leading us and guiding us through this land of frequent changes. He is leading you! Follow His peace and know that His will is always your sanctification (1 Thessalonians 4:3). “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose” (Romans 8:28). Sometimes Brothers and Sisters when we are suffering heartbreak, tragedy, disappointment, frustration, and sadness, we often wonder what good can come of this. Remember this one thing, whatever God permits to come into your life is designed to conform you into the image of His Son. Our lives are not under the control of luck or chance, but the Mighty Unchanging Hand of our Loving God.
