Attributes of God: Truthfulness

Attributes of God: Truthfulness

Truthfulness of God:

We are living in a day when the truth is hard to come by. Satan who is the father of lies has subverted and perverted the truth since the earth began, But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (Ephesians 2:4-5). We can now see and have fellowship with Jesus who has been and always will be THE TRUTH. Anything that is true has as its source God. That is to say all scientific truth, all logical truth, and all natural truth comes from THE TRUTH, God Almighty and our Lord Jesus Christ. Lies and Truth are opposites. You are either living a lie or you are living the Truth.

Truth holds together. Therefore, there is no phase of truth that is not related to every other phase of truth. All things that are true are part of the truth and stand in a proper and inescapable relationship to God, who is himself the truth. —James Montgomery Boice

Scriptures:

John 14:6 “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”

John 17:17 “Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.”

1 Thessalonians 4:3-7 “ For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication: That every one of you should know how to possess his vessel in sanctification and honour; Not in the lust of concupiscence, even as the Gentiles which know not God: That no man go beyond and defraud his brother in any matter: because that the Lord is the avenger of all such, as we also have forewarned you and testified. For God hath not called us unto uncleanness, but unto holiness.”

Be Encouraged:
Brothers and Sisters, God’s Attributes are interconnected. His Truth is: unchanging, all powerful, all knowing, ever present, and has good at its end (Romans 8:28). If you are in Christ today, His prayer for you is that you be sanctified (set apart) in the truth because His Word is Truth (John 17:17). Notice that Christ did not say His Word contains some truth, but that His Word is Truth. If you ever wonder “What is God’s Will for my Life?” Know this, His will is always your sanctification (1 Thessalonians 4:3). Be a follower who is in love with the Truth. Tell the truth, buy the truth, give the truth, and live the truth. When you do this, you will not only please your Father God, but you will be a billboard that points others to Him. Let your life mirror Christ’s life. Let Truth be found in your home, in your car, and in your mind! Allow the Word of God to daily renew your mind (Romans 12:2) and know that Christ is ever interceding for you before the Father on your behalf saying, “Sanctify them in the truth; your word is truth”.
